Living Lawnmowers are Back in the SSSI!

The Red Poll cattle arrived back at Mill Meadows today, 15th April 2024 and are now in the Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) to help consume the larger coarse grasses. They will be monitored regularly by the dedicated cattle watchers and will be moved into other parts of this local nature reserve when appropriate. At the moment there are 9 heifers and one mama cow. The mama cow wears a gps collar so that her location can be tracked. You can find out where she is (and usually the rest of the heifers) by going to the visit cattle page on this website.
